visiting a physician abroad
Hi, I wanted to ask if I am allowed to visit a specialist physician abroad while registered with A-kassa. I come from another country and visit most specialists there as I did not manage to make equivalent appointments in a reasonable timeframe here in Sweden.
Also, when I travel abroad only for weekend, does it affect my compensation?

Being abroad is generally not allowed while on unemployment benefits. To be able to receive benefits yuo should be able to both look for and take work inside Sweden. Taking work in Sweden in not possible while being abroad.
However if you go abroad for a short weekend, only saturday and sunday it will not affect your benefits. You are perefectly free to pause your benefits for a period of time and go abroad and then continue with the benefits as soon as you return to Sweden. For example if you go abroad on a friday and return on a sunday you should register unemployed on your time reports monday through thursday and then register not able to take work friday through sunday.
While abroad (and not on benefits) you can visit any spcialist physician of your choice.
