Effect on Akassa and Extra Unemployment Insurance (Inkomstforsakring)
Hi,
I am a member of Sveriges Ingenjorer and have Akassa (with you) and extra unemployment insurance (inkomsforsakring through Folksam).
I have changed my job from Alvier Mechatronics AB to European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund from March 2025.
Also, I have started a small company called SM Consulting i Lund AB where I am the owner (not employee). I am 100% employed at ESS and is agreed with ESS in writing.
Hence, I have two questions.
1) How do I update my latest salary and employer in your database.
2) Does my A kassa and extra unemployment insurance has an impact due to extra ownership of SM consulting i Lund AB in addition to my job at ESS?

1) There is no need to update your salary to Akademikernas a-kassa. We will only need information regarding your salary if you where to be unemployed. It might have an impact.
2) Depending on the circumstances there are many different options. If and how it affects your insurance depends on:
- if there is (or has been) any activity at all in the company,
- what it takes for you to be an owner of the company. Is your participation equal to working in the company?
You can read more regarding the possibility of having a side business that would not affect your insurance here. Note that from the 1st of october 2025 there will be sufficient with six months of work in a side business in parallell with a full time employment to be able to have it granted. If you have more questions I would advice you to call us and discuss your situation in detail with one of our case officers on 08 412 33 00.
All the best

I highly appreicated that the webpage you sent was in English and hence no half cooked translation needed to be used to understand it.
However just to be very clear, let me triple check with you how I understand it.
1) I should asap go to Mina Sidor and fill up Question for business owners on your website?
"How to apply for a sideline business
Apply to have your sideline business approved at the same time as you apply for unemployment benefits
2) When I get unemployed I should follow this. Also, can you elaborate a little on money limit for business owner. Example - if you had received more than say 100000sek in dividends and/or other benefits as owners, then it is not considered secondary job? The other limit as an employee of 3060 sek per week is before or after tax?
Conditions for sideline business
For additional work to be considered a sideline business, the following conditions must be met:
