work in Denmark and come back to look for a job

hi, I am working as postdoc in Denmark but still living in Sweden. I plan to look for a job in Sweden after I finish the contract (one year and one month left). How can I get the unemployment benefit, from Denmark or Sweden? Thanks

  • Hi Jon!

    Thank you for your question!
If you are living in Sweden and planning to look for a job in Sweden after you finished your postdoc contract then you should apply for unemployment benefit in Sweden. It is the country of residence that controls where to register as unemployed.

Please call us to come in contact with our abroad department for more detailed information since special rules apply. 08-412 33 00 Monday-Friday 9-16 .

    Best regards, Lydia

  • One more question, should I join the aea Denmark or stay with aea Sweden?
  • Hi Jon!
Since you are working in Denmark you should join a Danish unemployment fund.
