Question about how to apply for benefit

Hi,

I have a time-limited contract (100% employment) which soon ends.
As I understood from what I read in your website the first thing that someone has to do is to register as unemployed with Arbetsförmedlingen the first day of unemployment. Isn't that right?

Then the next steps are to fill in "Ansökan om ersättning" online through your webpage and upload the "Arbetsgivarintyg" for the last 12 months for someone that has been working.

Is this right or does someone have to provide these documents in advance to you? (before registering with Arbetsförmedlingen?)

Is there a time limit on when these documents need to be provided to you in general?

    Thank you for your questions.

    That is correct. Everything is done the same day you register with Arbetsförmedlingen or later. You can not apply in advance. So to clarify it all;

    • Step 1-  On your first day of unemployment you need to register with Arbetsförmedlingen. You can do so electronically here Arbetsförmedlingen If you do not have BankID, you must visit your nearest Arbetsförmedlingen office.
    • Step 2-  Fill in your application for benefit. This is done electronically in Mina sidor. We recommend that you submit your application to us as soon as possible. The sooner we have your complete application the sooner we can handle your case.
